The stately home is similar in style to Neuschwanstein Castle but it's much older. The first mention was in 1213. Last building alteration finished in 1893. Now it's a museum for local history.

Wernigerode Castle was first mentioned as a "castrum" in 1213. But during the Thirty Years' War (1618–1648) the castle is no longer defensible.

Ein sehr interessantes Schloss und ein imposantes Bauwerk. Die Innenräume unbedingt ansehen. Wer etwas über die Geschichte lernen möchte, sollte sich unbedingt den Audio- Guide mieten.

Einer der schönsten Blicke über ganz Wernigerode. Interessantes Museum und toller Ort für Konzerte. Mit parken wirds eher schwieriger. Da empfiehlt sich die gelbe Straßenbimmelbahn.
