Agros fortas į Agra

Agros fortas yra XVI amžiaus statinių kompleksas Agroje Indijoje. 1983 metais paskelbtas UNESCO pasaulio paveldo objektu. Jį statyti pradėjo Mogolų imperijos valdovas Akbaras Didysis, perkėlęs sostinę iš Delio. Tačiau savo dabartinę išvaizdą jis įgijo tik valdant jo anūkui šachui Džanachui (شاه ‌جهان).

Forto, supamo 21 m aukščio sienos, perimetras yra lygus 2,4 km. Sienos turi dvejus – Delio ir Lahorės vartus. Ši vieta labai reikšminga architektūros istorijai. Čia galima aptikti istoriškai įdomią induizmo ir islamo sintezę. Pavyzdžiui, keletoje musulmoniškų dekoracijų vietoje tradicinės kaligrafijos įkomponuoti drakonų, paukščių, dramblių atvaizdai.

Agra Fort is originally a brick fort, which was held by the Hindu Sikarwar Rajputs. It was mentioned for the first time in 1080 AD when a Ghaznavide force captured it.

My group saw the Taj Mahal at sunrise and decided to skip our tour at Agra Fort later that day -- they made a huge mistake. The Taj Mahal is iconic, but Agra Fort was my favorite place in Agra.

Beautiful historic monument by itself, it is further enhanced by the eerie views of distant and aloof Taj Mahal and the 'mortal' in-between separating the two sites. Don't miss it!
